Denture Repair

A denture repair fixes a cracked base, a broken clasp or a tooth that has come off. Many clinics with an on-site lab turn repairs around the same day. A denture that rocks or rubs usually needs a reline rather than a repair, because the acrylic has shrunk away from the gum.

Denture Repair — FAQ

Can a broken denture be fixed the same day?

Often yes, if the clinic has its own lab. Call first and describe what broke — a clean break in the base is the quickest repair.

Can I glue it myself?

No. Household adhesive gets into the break and stops a proper repair from bonding. Keep the pieces and take them with you.

Repair or reline?

If the denture is broken, it is a repair. If it still fits but rubs or rocks, the acrylic has shrunk and a reline ($250–$500) rebuilds the fitting surface.
